Currently Hiring for the Following Positions:

  • ​PRN Medical Lab Technician

    Summary:

    Collects samples from patients ranging in age from infancy to the elderly. Processes samples, performs tests and reports results according to policy. Performs maintenance on various laboratory analyzers. Maintains supply levels and assists in ordering and inventory. Monitors and performs calibrations and quality controls as required.​

    Required Education, Experience & Qualifications:​

    • Must be a graduate of an approved technical and possess a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and must have certification or be eligible for one from an accrediting agency (ASCP or equivalent) or
    • Hold a diploma from a branch of the armed forces with ASCP or equivalent registry.
    • One (1) year of experience preferred as a MLT, (criteria may be waived if he/she is a graduate from an approved MLT program).
    • Must have three (3) to twelve (12) months of on-the-job training to attain reasonable proficiency as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
    • Must have a high degree of integrity with acute awareness of work assignments.
    • Acceptable to all demands on time with willingness to sacrifice in the interest of the profession and the organization.
    • Tact and understanding in dealing with patients of all age groups from newborns, neonates, pediatrics and adolescents, adults, and elderly.
    • Ability to willingly take directions and supervision from the laboratory Manager.
    • Able to exercise independent, judgment to set up work assignments that make maximum use of knowledge and ability utilizing the most effective and economic means available to accomplish such tasks.

  • ​​​PRN Medical Technologist

    Summary:

    Qualifications:​

    BS in Medical Technology and possess certification or be eligible for ASCP (or equivalent). A passing score is required within 6 months of hire.


  • ​PRN Medivan Driver

    Summary:

    Responds to requests for transportation to and from various hospitals, clinics, diagnostic facilities, nursing homes, private homes, etc., and provides safe and efficient transportation to and/or from. If appropriate, as needed, performs other duties related to non-emergency medical care and/or transportation.

    Requirements:​

    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • CPR – Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross and current certification in Basic First Aid, or the successful completion of the above within thirty (30) days of employment

  • PRN ER Registration Clerk

    Summary:

    The Admission/Registration Clerk is responsible for registering patients presenting for services. The clerk must comply with department and hospital safety, infection control and performance improvement guidelines. Clerk has been educated and trained in processing admission of all age groups, i.e., infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Demonstrates commitment to the philosophy and values of Stone County Hospital to ensure the quality of care delivered. Cordially greets and registers patients upon arrival.
    • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality of all patients and employee information at all times according to the established hospital policy as evidenced by no reported breach of privacy or confidence.
    • Notifies ER Nurse and/or Physician of emergency admissions and assists with requisitions for services from ancillary departments.
    • Obtains all required signatures (consent of treatment must be obtained 100% of the time).
    • Obtains complete accurate demographic and insurance information.
    • Applies patient identification bracelets and makes data card.
    • Consistently distributes required notices to patients regarding Advanced Directives, Medicare and Champus.
    • Enters all registrations in the appropriate logbooks and discharges and/or transfers in computer
    • Consistently and accurately copies face sheets, ER records and insurance information and distributes to other providers of service, i.e., consulting physician, radiologist, etc.
    • Performs any functions as requested by supervisor

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School Diploma
    • Experience preferred, but not required
    • Must have basic typing and office skills as well as the ability to meet and communicate effectively with the public

  • Paramedics Needed - Full Time, Part Time & PRN ​

    SUMMARY

    Administers basic and advanced life support care to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital setting under direction of an Emergency Department Physician consistent with state and local protocols by performing the following duties. Performs continuation of care and observation during inter-facility patient transfers per direction of responsible physician.

    Required Certificates, License, Registrations

    • Current Paramedic License for the State of Mississippi
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • EVOC (Preferred)
    • CPR
    • BTLS or PHTLS

  • Receptionist - Full Time Position (Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30)
    Stone County Family Medical Clinic

    SUMMARY

    The Clinic Receptionist arranges for the efficient and orderly registration of outpatients and ensures that accurate information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
    • Accepts appointments for services and gathers necessary patient information including emergency notification numbers and insurance information and enters data into computer system
    • Registers arriving patients who have been referred by a doctor for services and obtains copy of insurance card and picture ID
    • Collects billing information when pre-registering patient, or at time of registration; forwards same to business office along with charges and payments on a daily basis
    • Informs patients of their financial responsibility if applicable
    • Collects payments for provider services prior to services being rendered
    • Ensures that patients re-sign insurance forms on a monthly basis
    • Verifies all workers compensation claims with patient's employer and notifies patient of results
    • Assists patients in explanation of insurance benefits
    • Maintains file of major employer outpatient benefits
    • Accepts patients in order of appointments with exception of emergency (STAT) cases which are processed first

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Possess basic clerical skills
    • Must be computer literate at an intermediate skill level
    • Ability to meet and communicate effectively with the public
    • Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously​
    • Minimum of two (2) years related office experience

  • Dispatcher PRN and PT

    This position is responsible for communication of work request through utilizing the hospital dispatch system. Serves the mobile healthcare services department as the communications dispatcher, handling telephone requests for emergency and routine transportation services and equipment delivery services. Dispatches appropriate vehicles and crews to respond to these requests in a timely and efficient manner. Maintains computer database of all information related to requests for service communicating with floor nurses and physician office staff to schedule/coordinate routine ambulance transportation service to and from the hospital.​

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Current EMP-M state registration
    • Current CPR certification, American Heart Association course C, or American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer
    • At least one year of dispatcher experience in a hospital or medical setting

  • Certified Nursing Assistant positions

    The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential assistance with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care to patients. Demonstrates ability to work effectively as a multidisciplinary team member; supports and assists team members in all activities. Communicates in an effective and efficient manner with all documentation, and with all coworkers, patients visitors, and physicians.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • Current Certification as a Nursing Assistant
    • Current BLS Certification
    • Experience in acute hospital setting or in ambulance; EMT certification preferred
    • Basic arrhythmia course preferred (may obtain within 1 yr of hire)

  • Registered Nurses - Full Time Positions in Med/Surg.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college.
    • Licensed in the State of MS.
    • Must have a minimum of (2) years experience in a hospital setting.
    • Must display professionalism both in appearance and attitude.
    • Must possess the ability to solve problems and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
    • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality care.
    • Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.

  • Coding/Clerk Specialist - Full Time

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The HIM coder is responsible for coding all acute care, swing bed, observation and surgical admissions, outpatient procedures and emergency department encounters. In addition the HIM Coder collects, analyzes, assembles, maintains and makes available to authorized users timely, accurate, secure and complete patient health information and controls the release of medical information from patient medical records in accordance with applicable standards and hospital policy.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have Associates Degree in a related medical field and/or have at least one of the following certifications: CPC, or CPC-H
    • Must have experience in coding ICD-9-CM, CPT and HCPCS Codes
    • ICD 10 experience a plus
