    SCH has an expert team of providers who diagnose and treat heart disorders. Our fine staff includes Wiggins native Stepheny Sumrall. She works alongside SCH Cardiologist Dr. Viral Lathia.

    Stepheny spent her childhood growing up in Wiggins and graduated from Stone High School. She went onto the University of Southern Mississippi to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Her love of the healthcare field led her to becoming an ER nurse, where she worked for sixy ears at area hospitals. Stepheny also is experienced in home health and hospice care.

    She received her Masters of Nursing degree from the University of South Alabama in 2014. She holds a dual certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and as an Adult-Gero Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, allowing her to understand the healthcare needs of children to senior citizens.

    Stepheny is married to Chad Sumrall; they have two lovely children, 5-year old Kinsley and 4-year old Asher. The family worships at Big Level Baptist Church. When Stepheny is not working, she enjoys fishing, playing softball and spending time with her family.

    Susan Wallace is a Hattiesburg native who earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1995.  She began her nursing career at Wesley Medical Center in 1996, working in the Cardiovascular Recovery Unit and the Intensive Care Unit.  She left Wesley Medical Center in 2011 to pursue higher education.  Susan achieved her Master’s degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in July of 2012.  She is a member of the Mississippi Nurse’s Association and the Association of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses.
